Vinicius Junior misses out on major award again after Ballon d’Or snub

The 2024 Golden Man award was unveiled by Tuttosport on Wednesday, just over a month after the Ballon d'Or ceremony hosted by France Football. Rodri Hernandez took home the prize, with Vinicius Junior narrowly missing the finish line. They were both overlooked for the Golden Man award, which is given to players over the age of 21.

According to MD, Toni Kroos won the award four months after he officially retired from professional football. He finished first ahead of Vinicius, while Rodri completed the podium places.

Kroos was in commanding form during his final season in football and was instrumental in Real Madrid winning La Liga and the Champions League. His impact has been further boosted by Carlo Ancelotti's struggles during the current season.

It is very nice for Kroos to rightly take home this award and it can be seen as a good end to his playing career. Real Madrid will be very happy for him.
