Walker appealed to referee Matteo Marchetti against a red card that was shown to Alli, who made his debut for Como in the Siro after a long time viewing from the sidelines in a difficult part of his career. The 28-year-old is a former teammate of Walker and they spent many years together in Tottenham before Ali got out of grace.
Speaking at the Kyle Walker -Podcast, the city star revealed that 10 men in the day was welcomed, but seeing his friend was sent away after returning to football.
“I think my heart went into operation. Everyone else, I would have just let him be sent. Especially a man at the San Siro, you think, okay, we are going to do what we have to do.
“I know what he tried to do. We did it all where you just cut the ankles of someone and they don't get the counterattack. But perhaps where he is not played for a few years and from the rhythm of the game and everything like that, he caught Ruben (Loftus-Cheek) a bit too high. And that was it.
“Of course I think we need ten men in football terms. We want the ten men, AC Milan want the ten men. But for the personal relationship I have with Deree, for the number of years that I have known for what he has experienced – what he has clearly said and that is not really cynically sent, to be broadcast and not really Cynic yet to be broadcasted and not being broadcast and not being broadcast and not being broadcast yet and not to be broadcast and not to be broadcast and not to be broadcast yet and not to be broadcast yet and not to be broadcast yet and not to be broadcast yet and not to be broadcast yet and to be broadcast yet and not to be broadcast yet yet and not to be broadcast yet yet yet and not yet being broadcast yet yet yet yet yet yet yet yet yet, and who didn't really look and is really cynical.
“I went to visit him afterwards because he is a great friend of mine. And he was down, he was disappointed.”
Ali has the chance to reverse his career in the Serie A Under Como manager Cesc Fabregas and Walker believes that he could return to his old self while working hard behind the scenes to restore his shape.
“He was frustrated about himself for the decision. But there were no hard feelings from Ruben (Loftus-Cheek). I think they actually got a plane together on the way home (to England). That was the rumor.
“Depele then came to the dressing room (to see Ruben). He hugged. It's just football. We're going further. And you know, Dele must go out very quickly to make sure he is back to where he should be.
“I know how hard he (part) worked, especially outside the field. And to get his chance at Como, I think it's fantastic. I think it's a good club. Good competition for him to try to regenerate and revive his career – and I will say that I don't think his career was dead and buried in one way or another.”
