Graham Potter believes that Aaron Wan-Bissaka plays the best football of his career after the wing-back returned yesterday to chase Manchester United.
Wan-Bissaka's husband of the match display worsened Ruben Amorim and the misery of Manchester United with his hand in both goals in a 2-0 win that dropped his former side to even deeper lows.
For Potter, he was the least surprised person in Old Trafford to see Wan-Bissaka do such an impressive version, something he was often accused of not in a Manchester United shirt.
“He has been really impressive,” said Potter.
'As I said before, I can't say this categorically because I don't know Aaron's career, but I can't imagine he played too [before] As he has for us at this point in his career.
“He looks like he enjoys his football. He gives a lot to the team, really satisfied with what he gives the team offensive and defensive. Like I said, it looks like he enjoys his football.
'And that is not easy because the results we have been not so much fun. Yet his individual performance has been strong. '
West Ham has passed a miserable season, but jumped Manchester United with this result with Ruben Amorim who accused his players of having one eye on the coming Europa League final.
For all criticism of attitude and application of counterpart Ruben Amorim – who smelled about the lack of 'urgency' of his players – Potter was full of pride for a first victory since 22 February.
'You can talk about tactics, but it's about desire and application and staying together. The attitude and dedication of the player for what we are trying to do has been the first class, “he said.
“We have the capacity. We just have to keep working. '
