Arsenal -fans are divided over Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway's interpretation of their club Volkslied 'North London Forever' after the pounding victory of the Gunners over Real Madrid.
The side of Mikel Arteta placed itself in an impressive position to continue to the semi-final of the Champions League after a devastating 3-0 win over the reigning champions at the Emirates.
Declan Rice stole the show with two pin-point free kicks, while Mikel Merino continued his hot line in front of the goal by adding the third.
The implementation and the result led to a groundswell of jubilation of all associated with the Gunners, including famous fan Anne Hathaway, who went to social media to sing the club's favorite song.
The devil, however, often bears the display of Prada Star in Sombre instead of sincerely and turned out to be uncomfortable – and listening – for some Arsenal fans.
“Really difficult look at Anne Lad,” the user wrote on Tiktok. Another said, “What have I just looked at.”
“Surprisingly painful watch from Anne,” said a third, while another said a joke, “I always wondered why Christian Bale hated her on the set, now I know why.”
There were not all negative comments for the 42-year-old, who went to Instagram last week to welcome Bukayo Saka back to the side after his resignation from the long injury. Hathaway received some praise from fans on the platform for her version of the club Anthem.
The Les Miserables -star Hathaway previously declared her love for Arsenal when a video became viral of her celebration by Leandro Trossard who scored against Wolves last season.
Trossard then sent Hathaway a video message, while he said: 'Hey Anne, I really loved your party for my goal the other day.
“Keep supporting us, and hopefully we'll see you soon at the Emirates.”
Hathaway watched the video with her at the idea of your co-star and colleague Arsenal supporter Nicholas Galitzine, and said she 'shook' after she was sanged that Trossard had been in contact.
The Gunners welcome Brentford on Saturday evening for the second stage in the Bernabeu next week.
