Real Madrid are on course to close the gap on Barcelona for the second consecutive matchday in La Liga. After scoring just before half-time in the match against Leganes, Carlo Ancelotti's side have now doubled their lead.
It was Kylian Mbappé who broke the deadlock a few minutes before half-time, and just after the hour mark at Butarque, Real Madrid were 2-0 ahead thanks to Federico Valverde's stunning goal.
Valverde only seems to score good goals, and this is another one. It's a nice routine with Dani Ceballos and Arda Guler, and the Uruguayan midfielder, who is playing as a right-back today due to injuries, shoots into the bottom corner.
Real Madrid needed that goal to create breathing space, and they are now well on their way to back-to-back wins after back-to-back defeats. They should be able to see it from here.
