Sunday's Spanish Super Cup final defeat to Barcelona was humiliating enough for Real Madrid, but now one of their arch-rivals of recent years has stepped up in Mallorca defender Pablo Maffeo.
During training in Mallorca on Tuesday, Maffeo was captured gesturing the 5-2 scoreline to cameras around the complex, one of which was operated by Esports IB3.
Maffeo has clashed with Real Madrid players, especially Vinicius Junior, several times over the past two to three years. Last week he was again involved in a scuffle during the Spanish Super Cup semi-final between the two teams. After that, he was tormented, so he took the opportunity to look back.
There is one more meeting scheduled this season between Real Madrid and Mallorca, and that is in May at the Santiago Bernabeu. Maffeo will likely be involved, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he were targeted again on that occasion.
