Sunday's match between Real Madrid and Sevilla is sure to be an emotional one as it will feature the final appearance of Spanish football icon Jesus Navas. The 39-year-old will retire at the end of 2024 due to a chronic hip injury and after winning his final match against Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan last weekend, he will be hoping to end his playing days in a similar fashion.
Before the match started, Real Madrid paid tribute to Navas by organizing a guard of honor for him. The entire Santiago Bernabeu also stood up for the veteran defender as they paid their tributes.
Navas is an incredibly popular figure in Spanish football, and such tribute is well deserved. Real Madrid will be hoping to spoil the celebrations of his last game as a professional footballer, but it is clear they have so much respect for everything he has done for Sevilla, and for the national team as well.
