With Inigo Martinez coming off injured in the Spanish Super Cup final, Ronald Araujo was sent off with just one appearance to his name against Real Madrid. The Uruguayan has been in excellent form and some wondered if this could be his last appearance for Barcelona.
If there was any doubt that his future is up in the air, Robert Lewandowski appears to have confirmed it. Lewandowski was caught by Movistar+ during the Super Cup celebrations in Barcelona telling his teammate: 'Ronald… You have to stay.'
'He stays, he stays now. New contract,” continues Lewandowski, who only encounters a 'brother…' from Araujo.
“That is possible at the end of the season. It's better for you. You play now, here you play,” Lewandowski continues, with little reaction other than a sheepish smile from Araujo.
