WAYNE Rooney has criticized speculation that he has brought a mystery woman back to his flat, insisting 'it's just not true'.
Trolls claimed a video posted online showed him letting an unknown woman into his luxury Plymouth pad.
But today he struck out, explaining that they were actually a couple who had given the football legend a lift home and that his son was present at the time.
Taking to his Instagram stories, the angry football icon said: “I am aware of a video circulating online.
“The video shows a man and a woman looking around my apartment.
“The couple kindly gave me a lift home and were there at the same time as my son who was visiting.
“The images are from last summer, it is annoying that at least one online newspaper has chosen to edit the images to make it appear as if a woman entered the apartment alone.
“That's just not true.”
In the video, Wazza – dressed in a gray tracksuit – unlocks a door to his rented luxury apartment in Plymouth as an unknown woman waits.
Rooney is then filmed walking past a huge flat-screen TV, with the camera later panning around to show a kitchen and dining table.
A woman can be heard saying, “What time does it end?” while a man holds a blue baseball cap and says, “This is the hat he always wears.”
In another video, the guests are seen looking around Rooney's bedroom and master bathroom, with the girl saying “Wow” while the guy says “Oh my fucking god.”

The Plymouth fan added: “I'm gutted it hasn't worked.
“I loved Rooney as a player, my football idol growing up. Unreal feeling when he was announced as manager.”
In addition to the video, another photo of Rooney sitting with two women in a pub was also posted on X, but it was taken on an evening in August.
Rooney's job as Plymouth manager is under pressure after a string of poor results which culminated in a 2-0 defeat to Oxford United yesterday, leaving them bottom of the Championship.
Some of the club's fans have turned against him after initially celebrating his arrival on the south coast – and his willingness to socialize in the city.
A club spokesperson confirmed that the videos from the apartments were not recent as Rooney spent Saturday evening with his team at a hotel near the Oxford ground to prepare for the match.
A source told The Sun that I'm A Celeb star Coleen – who spent Sunday in the directors' lounge at Goodison Park watching his boys' team Everton FC lose 2-0 to Nottingham Forest – was “not worried” about the video when she saw this. online.
