Marcus Rashford has returned to shape at Aston Villa since he got on loan in January, but Wayne Rooney does not exclude Manchester United this summer
Wayne Rooney believes that Marcus Rashford wants to return to Manchester United this summer because he would like to leave an inheritance at Old Trafford. Rashford, 27, has rediscovered a good shape at Aston Villa since he was on loan in January, has been thrown away to the periphery of the United Squad by Ruben Amorim.
But Rooney, the top scorer of United, thinks Rashford is “100 percent” for a new crack in following his place in the team next season.
Working as an expert on the reporting of Amazon Prime about Villas League League quarterfinals defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening, Rooney said: “Marcus Rashford wants to play for Manchester United, 100 percent.
“He is a Manchester boy, Manchester United fan, and in recent years it was difficult. He had to play and it was clear that he would not play for the rest of the season in United. In an ideal world, he would like to leave a legacy at United. Whether that is possible, but this is what I would like to see.”
Rashford has contributed three goals and five assists since he came to Villa and could still end the campaign with the coin of another FA Cup winner. He also gave the spark to Villas Vechtback against PSG.
Villa is said to have an option to buy the English international for £ 40 million this summer, but head coach Unai Emery has said that no decision has been made yet. “It depends on the circumstances for now and the next weeks.”
