Wayne Rooney made Arsenal fans furious after making a series of controversial choices for his Arsenal and Real Madrid, XI combined second stage of the Champions League for the quarterfinals. The Gunners traveled to the Spanish capital in the hope of going to the semi-final after picking up an incredible 3-0 first leg win.
Arsenal blinded against the ruling European champions in the Emirates while stopping Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, while Declan Rice stole the newspaper heads with two fantastic free kicks.
Proponents must feel confident in the second stage after the team had shown their enormous quality against the La Liga side and some Arsenal fans are angry by Rooney who omits so many of their players.
Rooney was asked to build his combined XI by choosing between a selection of players in a match-up, while he chose Thibaut Courtois above David Raya for an even distribution in defense.
But fans were stunned that he chose Lucas Vasquez – an improvised right back for Madrid – about Jurrien Timber, while for Antonio Rudiger he went over Jakub Kiwior before he went to William Saliba about Raul Asencio and Myles Lewis -S -Skelly.
There were also questions about choosing Eduardo Camavinga above Thomas Pidey – although he selected Rice above Federico Valverde.
He mentioned Jude Bellingham in his team about Martin Odegaard before demonstrably causing the greatest excitement caused by Rodrygo about Bukayo Saka on the right wing. There must be few complaints about Mbappe and Vinicius that complete the line-up.

Rooney was also plagued by fans about his management career in response to his choices, as someone said: “I finally discovered the reason why he was always fired … Bad first team selection.”
