Atletico Madrid ends 2024 in a very good place. Twelve wins in a row in all competitions means they currently sit top of the La Liga table, one point ahead of bitter rivals Real Madrid.
According to Diario AS, Atleti president Enrique Cerezo looked back on the year as a whole, which he experienced as very positive.
“I think it has been a good year and there are reasons to be happy and happy. We reached the end of the year in first place in La Liga, which has seemed very difficult lately. Now it has become clear that we are capable of anything.”
Cerezo also spoke about the Diego Simeone era.
“I think that, if we look at the last fifteen years as a whole, we are at the best moment in the history of Atletico Madrid. We've won La Liga, we've reached two Champions League finals… but we've also grown a lot and we're getting bigger in many ways. I think for all these reasons we are at the best moment in the club's history.”
