Eddie Howe insists that Newcastle United “can't look for apologies” after their humiliating 4-0 defeat by Manchester City.
The magpies were surpassed by the side of Pep Guardiola in the Etihad Stadium, where Omar Marmoush scored a 14 -minute hat trick, while James Mcate later completed the Rout.
It was the biggest defeat of Newcastle, because they were defeated 5-0 by the same opponents on the same land in May 2022.
In fact, they have now lost each of their last 16 -matches against City in the division, and how felt that his players were missing in the physical department against the ruling champions.
“It was a tough day at the office,” he said. “They played well, we didn't do that. They are still the most difficult team to play against. We were not at our best today.
'They ask so many questions from you, put you under pressure. They didn't have a bundle of opportunities, but they did what to do.
“From the point we lacked duels, the physical side. Man City is so good at the structure. To disturb that, you must be physically exceptional, and we were not.”

Newcastle struggled to create something against City, to manage only three shots, and only one on goal, which came in the 60th minute via Lewis Miley.
On the other hand, they gave up 11 chances, worth 1.89 expected goals, where the hosts sent seven of those who sent Martin Dubravka on the goal.
Howe continued: “All goals we admitted today, we will look back with frustration. It will be difficult if you follow the game today, really difficult.
“We can't look for apologies, there are a lot of reasons why we could watch. But the players should have been fresh and ready to perform. They didn't.
“We have a number of heavy games, the list of fixture will test us. We have to dust ourselves for next week.”
