Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has promised his squad will look different in a month's time, once he has a fully fit squad to choose from again. The Italian coach believed his team did as well as possible in the 3-2 victory over strong Atalanta.
Ancelotti's side have been largely disappointing this season, but under the leadership of Jude Bellingham they are starting to show green growth. After being nine points behind in La Liga at one point, Real Madrid looked set to escape the title race, but they will come top if they win their match against Valencia.
“If we reach Christmas alive in all competitions, things will go well because we will get players back. Now we have to hold on until Christmas, there is no other option. When we get players back there will be more competition, but what won't change is that I'm going to field the best possible team to win every game,” he told MD.
Ancelotti believed Real Madrid were back to their best in Bergamo.
“We showed our best version, because if you don't do that here, you can't win. We fought, fought and worked very hard, with a good approach and a lot of mobility from the front. The match went well.”
Los Blancos face Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas on Saturday and then travel to Qatar to play the Intercontinental Cup next week before ending their year at home to Sevilla. Ancelotti and his team will be desperate to win and enter the new year in control of La Liga.
