“I have no words for the players. They earn all this and it's a good time,” says Enzo Maresca after Chelsea's amazing 3-0 victory over PSG in the club World Cup final.
“For me we won the game in the first 10 minutes. We set the pace and we were very good at pressing. The circumstances made it difficult to continue, but the boys did well.
'Of course I am very excited [about the future] But I am more excited that we have three weeks off. “
The Club World Cup has become the second trophy for Chelsea and Maresca in the past two months after the triumph of the Conference League.
Given that they also finished in the top four in the Premier League, this is an excellent first campaign for the Italian who is responsible for the blues.
The players will now take a short well -earned break after the very longest campaigns, before they return on time to prepare for a few friendly games for the season on Stamford Bridge, against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday 8 August and AC Milan on Sunday 10 August.
