“We’re allowed to dream” – Flick on treble hopes after Copa del Rey progression

Barcelona continued their incredible 2025 form on Wednesday with a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid who insured their Copa del Rey-Laatste place, after a 5-4 aggregated success against Diego Simeone's Kant.

It was a fighting performance of the Catalans, who could hold to ensure that the first half strike by Ferran Torres was the difference between the teams in the course of their semi -final. Hansi Flick was happy with the performance produced by his side, as he stated during his press conference after the game (via Marca).

“We defended well and we did very well. Everyone can be proud of this team, we are coaches. Atletico are a great team, but we have improved a lot. It's not easy, especially here. All players are doing well and we have checked it.”

Barcelona still lives in their hope to end the season with a treble after this victory over Athleti, and although Flick has recognized that supporters and players can concentrate on it, he chooses not to do that.

“We can dream, but we must be focused and focus on what we want. We will arrive three or four tomorrow morning, then we will have to sleep and return to training and recover. We will be confronted with Betis. In the coming weeks, we will not be easy, but we have a fantastic team. The club and the fans can be proud of the team.”

It will be Real Madrid that Barcelona will be confronted in the Copa del Rey final later this month, but for film that delicious opportunity is far in the distance for the time being.

“I don't want to talk about the final. I am focused on Betis. But it is fantastic to play in El Clasico, but you have to play a lot of games. There are many important things. Now it is not very important.”
