‘We’re not happy about the situation’ – Flick on Olmo & Pau Victor case

Barcelona may face the second half of the season without star signing Dani Olmo and striker Pau Victor after both opted out after the January deadline. In theory, these players are free to join other clubs, but Barcelona have said they still expect them to be registered and available.

Since a statement on December 31 stating that they had applied for licenses from the RFEF, the club has not spoken publicly about the matter, leaving manager Hansi Flick in front of the press to answer the many questions about their handling of the situation. .

“I don't want to talk about it too much because it's not my job. “I can say that I spoke to the president before the holidays, and again today, and that I have confidence in the club.”

“I wasn't happy with the situation, and the players are not happy with the situation. It is what it is, we have to accept it, we are professionals. We have to coach, that is our job, the club has to do their job. The confidence is there, I am always positive, but we have to wait for the decision.”

The German coach remained tight-lipped about what he had discussed with president Joan Laporta, but admitted it was not a simple situation for them.

“What I'm talking to the president about is private, and it will remain private, and it's not for you.”

“I spoke to Dani and Pau, you can imagine that the situation is not easy for them. They want to play for the club, they are both good players, important players, and we will see what the decision will be when it is made. I am very positive about it, but I know it is not easy.”

Flick also noted that he would use Olmo and Victor if possible.

“They are ready to play, what I saw in training was good, nothing different from normal. If they can play, they can play.”
