West Ham confirm FOUR Conference League winners will leave on a free at end of season

West Ham United won the final of the Conference League in 2023, but four of the squadron members from that victory over Fiorentina will not be in the London Stadium next season

West Ham United-star Vladimir Coufal, Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski and Danny ings will leave the club at the end of the 2024-25 season, the club has confirmed. All four were part of the MatchDay team for the 2023 Conference League final, when the hammers claimed a dramatic victory over Fiorentina to lift the trophy.

“The four members of our 2023 UEFA Europe Conference League-winning team all played their bit with one of the most successful periods in the history of West Ham United, and will leave with a combined total of more than 800 first team performances between them,” was a club statement. Coufal started that final in Prague, with Cresswell, Fabianski and ings between the substitutes.

West Ham is 17th in the Premier League, but are already comfortably safe for relegation. The four outputs occur on a first summer transfer window under Graham Potter, who took over as a manager in January.

“Aaron, łukasz, Vladimír and Danny have been a pleasure to work with in my time here so far – all brilliant professionals on and next to the field, with fantastic experience in the Premier League, and clearly loved and admired by their teammates and everyone here at the club,” said Potter.

“We still have three important games to play this season, and I know that their focus will be 100% on helping the team in any way they can do in those games, but we thought it was important to confirm this news now, out of respect for them and the service they have given to the club and to allow our supporters to show their appreciation at our last home matches.”

Cresswell is the longest serving member of the current team of the Hammers and has the longest uninterrupted Premier League run of every player in the history of the club. He played from Ipswich in 2014, played more than 300 top matches for the club and won his three England caps while he was on West Ham's books.

Goalkeeper Fabianski was named player of the year of the year in 2019, while Right-back Coufal ended two years later for the same prize for the same prize. Ings is a more recent arrival, which came from Aston Villa in January 2023 and scored vital goals while West Ham combined their European run with a fight against relegation.

West Ham takes this weekend at Manchester United in the Premier League, with fans who have the chance to give the four departing stars in the London Stadium next week, since Nottingham Forest are the visitors for the last home game of the season. The Potter team can jump their opponents with a victory at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim's side goes outside the qualification for the Europa League final, and it is still to see whether Amorim will call the changes as he did for his last league match. “We have no idea how Manchester United will approach the game,” said Potter.

“It is always complicated with Old Trafford, but we have to concentrate on ourselves and try to get the three points. We want to try to win and it doesn't matter to the opponent.”
