West Ham draw up three-man shortlist led by ex-Chelsea boss
WEST HAM are preparing a shortlist of potential replacements for Julen Lopetegui following their 3-1 defeat at Leicester.
Ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter, former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic and Sergio Conceicao are all being considered.
Lopetegui was close to the bag before West Ham's match against Newcastle last month.
An impressive win bought the former Wolves manager more time.
But a dismal defeat to Arsenal and humiliation against Leicester on Tuesday evening have piled on the pressure again.
The Hammers management are often reluctant to sack managers mid-season.
Yet it did not take long for concerns to arise about Lopetegui's role.
Terzic led Dortmund to the Champions League final last season and is seen as the favorite option within the club.
However, there are doubts over how keen he is to move to the London Stadium.
The 50-year-old Conceicao won three Portuguese titles with Porto, which he left last summer.
While Potter, who has been unemployed since leaving Chelsea in April last year, recently turned down Leicester and is believed to be interested.
Coincidentally, he was on duty for Leicester's defeat to the Hammers on Amazon Prime Video.
Potter has been doing the rounds on TV in recent weeks and has previously appeared on Sky Sports.
And he will have seen up close exactly what problems West Ham encounter on the field.
Jamie Vardy needed just two minutes to put the Foxes ahead in Ruud van Nistelrooy's first match.
Bilal El Khannouss doubled Leicester's lead in the second half.
And Patson Daka's late goal ensured that Niclas Fullkrug's effort in the 93rd minute was little more than a consolation for the visitors.
At the very least, West Ham have a decent-looking schedule ahead of them until they play Liverpool at the end of the year.
Wolves, Bournemouth, Brighton and Southampton are ahead in their next four matches.
