West Ham in advanced talks with Leipzig to sign Andre Silva on initial loan deal

West Ham is in advanced talks with RB Leipzig over the signing of striker Andre Silva, according to Sky Germany.

The deal currently being discussed concerns a loan until the end of the season, including a purchase option.

Negotiations are ongoing and are described as constructive.

Portugal international Silva has made 53 international appearances, with 19 goals for his country to his name.

Silva, who started his senior career at Porto, previously played for AC Milan, Sevilla and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Ajax's Brian Brobbey is also interesting for West Ham in its search for a new striker.

Villa rejects West Ham bid for Duran

Aston Villa have rejected a bid from West Ham for striker Jhon Duran.

It is believed the offer was worth £57 million, but other sources claim this figure is incorrect. Villa do not want to sell and it is understood they value Duran at more than £70 million.

West Ham have long had an interest in Duran – who recently extended his contract until 2030 – and new West Ham boss Graham Potter is known to be a big admirer.

The Hammers attempted to sign Duran in the summer but failed to match Villa's valuation. Duran has since signed a new contract that will keep him at Villa until 2030. Forward is a priority position for West Ham during this period.

The 21-year-old has scored seven Premier League goals in 19 games this season, using Ollie Watkins as Unai Emery's preferred striker.

He moved to Villa Park from MLS side Chicago Fire in January 2023, but only seven of his 54 league appearances were as a starter.
