Melquizel Costa continued his winning ways at UFC Vegas 106, but it was not an easy outing.
UFC Featherweight Melquizel Costa and Julian Erosa treated fans to a wild three-round war to start the UFC Vegas 106 card. The event was led by a goodweight collision between top candidates Gilbert Burns and Michael Morales on the Apex.
In a crucial confrontation for Costa and Erosa, the feather weights did not disappoint when they went to toe to the Octagon. But for Costa he had to overcome some early adversity thanks to an apparent foot injury that he had only been fighting for a few minutes.
As soon as Costa found his foot, he and Erosa were in the bag and threw heavy shots in one of the craziest fights of the year.

Melquizel Costa Vecht through foot injury, Julian Erosa on UFC Vegas 106
After a back and forth first round between Costa and Erosa, the UFC Vegas 106 sent on zero on Costa's left foot, which seemed to show several cracks on his toes. It was a filthy injury, but Costa waved the cameraman and chose to keep fighting at his wild pace.

Despite a compromised foot, Costa put his right foot on the accelerator pedal and under pressure erosa with his striking. Costa surprised Erosa several times in round 2, including a nasty main kick that almost ended the fight and sent Erosa asleep.
In the third and final lap, Costa and Erosa exchanged heavy shots with their striking and went the full distance. After three rounds of packed action, Costa got the nod on the jury's scorecards through a unanimous decision.
Costa has now won four fights in a row, including an entry in the first round that surprised the UFC Seattle-Versigte against Andre Fili in February. Costa introduced UFC Vegas 106 and placed Christian Rodriguez in another closely affected matchup, only a few weeks after his victory in UFC Seattle.
The former rival of Paddy Pimblett earned a thunderous knockout on the UFC Vegas 106 Prelims
The UFC Vegas 106-Prelims did not disappoint, because Jared Gordon returned to the win column with a ridiculous one-punch knockout against Thiago Moises. Gordon had been profitless in three of his previous four fights that UFC Vegas 106 is introducing.
Gordon could possibly earn a future Rematch with Paddy Pimblett after his impressive show at UFC Vegas 106. Gordon lost to Pimblett through a controversial decision on UFC 282, in what many believe that the first UFC defeat of Pimblett should have been.
Pimblett has since defeated Michael Chandler, Tony Ferguson and Bobby Green to raise the lightweight ladder. Pimblett enjoys some free time after UFC 314, because he shared a dramatic weight gain, just a few weeks after completing Chandler.
