Global Fight League announces Signing Tony Ferguson
On Friday, Global Fight League [GFL] sent shock waves through the MMA world with a post on social media.
“@ONYFUGUSONXT signs with the Global Fight League. #Mma #GFL #usa ”, they wrote next to an image with Ferguson, which was placed on their official Instagram account.
Fans were overwhelmed by the announcement, since Ferguson has not yet been officially released by the UFC.
The American favorite with the fans has not yet confirmed his contract with GFL. In the meantime, UFC boss Dana White has not made any public statement about the fact that one of the largest lightweight fighters ever has to leave his MMA competition.
Naturally, the commentary part of GFL's last message was full of confused and excited Vecht fans.
“OMFG OMG OMG OMG !!!!!!!!,” someone replied. While another asked, “When was he released ???”
“What's going on ???,” someone else said.
“Wattttttttt,” a fourth fan proclaimed.
“Again fake news”, a skeptical fan noted:
“Let me fight this fight,” added GFL star Chris Giagos.
Who has signed GFF more?
Paige Vanzant is about to make her MMA backer for GFL after she left the sport in 2020.
The former UFC star is the biggest asset they have made so far, but the new promotion has picked up a number of big names, with Tyron Woodley, Luke Rockhold, Benson Henderson, Anthony Pettis, Andrei Arlovski, Frank Mir, Fabricio Werdum and Junior dos Santos all on their roster.
Andere GFL-sterren zijn Wanderlei Silva, Alex Gustafsson, Hector Lombard, Thiago Santos, Kevin Lee, Jeremy Stephens, Marlon Moraes, Gegard Mousasi, Greg Hardy, Robelis Despaigne, Bubba Jenkins, Tanner Boser, Philipe Lins en Will Brooks.
However, GFL is accused of being too far when it comes to announcing new acquisitions.
Earlier this week, Octagon issued a statement after it was announced that two of their fighters would join GFL.
It stated: “In response to questions about the possible relocation of our fighters to another organization, we confirm that Andreas Mikhailidis and Mateusz Duczmal have a long -term, excluding contract with our organization. We declare that the information that is currently circulating online is false. “
So fans may want to wait before they become too enthusiastic about Ferguson fights in a new MMA competition.
