The 2024 Africa Nations Championships (Chan) is finally ready to serve the East African countries and the entire African continent with entertaining, quality football from August 3 to August 30.

After a few months of waiting, the Chan will finally be performed in East Africa, to be precise, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. It is the first edition of the tournament that is jointly organized by three countries, and also the first time that the competition has been performed in East Africa.
In addition, the Chan 2024 will act as a test run and curtainraiser for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) planned to take place in the East African region in 2027. The tournament will also welcome another first participant, the Central African Republic.
Groups, and where they will be based
After the withdrawal of Libya after qualification, the tournament will take on a format with four groups because of the planning of conflicts: groups A, B and C each have five teams, while group D will comprise four. The top two teams of each group continue to the quarterfinals, after which the tournament will continue to the semi -final, the third place and final.
Group A: Kenya will organize the group that from Morocco, Angola, Dr. Congo, Zambia is planned for Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium with competitions.
Group B: Tanzania will be the group with Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central -African Republic and all competitions will be performed in Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
Group C: The competitions in which Uganda, Nigand, Guinea, Algeria and South Africa are involved are organized in Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, which is also designated to organize the play-offs of third place.
Group D: The group with title defender Senegal, Congo Brazzaville, Sudan and Nigeria, the only group with four teams, will be organized in the recently renovated Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.

How can I watch Chan competitions?
Tanzania organizes the large opening ceremony and opening on August 2, before their national team, Taifa stars, compete against Burkina Faso. Back in Nairobi, the Harambee stars of Kenya, who will be under the leadership of Benni McCarthy, will be their campaign against Dr. On Sunday 3 August. Congo start at Kasarani Stadium.
In Kenya, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) government will transfer all matches. In the meantime, football fans throughout Africa can catch every exciting moment of Chan live on Supersport TV, the official broadcaster of the tournament.

Short History of Chan
In contrast to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the Chan tournament only contains players who play in their national domestic competitions. That does not mean European star-all local talent that represents their countries.
Senegal will participate in the competition as the ruling champions, while Morocco and Dr. Congo keeping the distinction of the most successful countries in the history of Chan, who have won the tournament twice.
The tournament started life in 2009 with eight teams, which was doubled until the sixth for the second edition and has currently disputed by 18 teams since the 2022 edition.
