When Real Madrid find out how long Kylian Mbappe is injured for

Real Madrid enjoyed a largely positive trip to Bergamo to face Atalanta on Tuesday, picking up three points and seeing Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham on the scoresheet together for the first time. The Frenchman's injury, which forced him to leave after half an hour, was the only major downside of the evening.

Both Thibaut Courtois and Carlo Ancelotti played down the issue, saying Mbappe had discomfort in his hamstring but that it did not appear serious. Mbappe will be doubtful for their clash with Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, but the hope is that he will be available for the Intercontinental Cup the following week when Los Blancos travel to Qatar. Marca say Mbappe will undergo tests when he arrives at the training ground at 3pm on Thursday afternoon. They say he is 'practically' out of the Rayo conflict.

Bellingham also lost against Girona last Saturday, and it may simply have been a precautionary measure by the Frenchman. Mbappe's fortunes continue to fail him: his opening goal came straight from familiar Mbappe form, but whenever things have gone well for him this season it has been followed by a step back. Real Madrid will take on Sevilla in their final Liga match of 2024 at the Santiago Bernabeu on December 22.
