The Euro 2025 final on Sunday is a repeat of the World Cup Showdown 2023 – but with even more at stake. Spain, already world champion World and Nations League, can complete a historic treble. Standing in the way: England, the ruling European title holders, decided not to give up easily.
Spain Favorites for Euro 2025 Title
Spain has generally seen the role in Switzerland. Four straight victories in the group, 14 goals scored and control in all areas of the field. Even when Germany tested in the semi -final, it was the class of Aitana Bonmatí that broke through. With Bolmatí, Putellas and Guijarro in midfield, and a growing list of attacking options, Spain now has both depth and dominance.
The route of England has been less convincing. A shock destruction against France has uncovered some vulnerability and they hardly survived against Sweden and Italy. But this is the fifth consecutive grand finale of Sarina Wiegman as a coach, and England has history against Spain – they defeated them in the Nations League match of February by giving possession and taking their chance.
In the newest FIFA world ranking, released on June 12, Spain climbed to the second after an almost perfect window. England, however, fell from the third to the fifth, with Brazil and Germany she jumped over.

And the first place? For the time being held by the United States, despite a small point loss. But with Spain that quickly comes in the horizon and a European title on the horizon, that position is more vulnerable than in years.
