The Premier League takes a back seat this weekend, with the FA Cup taking center stage on the football calendar in England. The third round, in which 64 participants take part, is the phase in which the twenty top clubs participate, all of whom compete for the cup matches between Thursday (9 January) and Sunday (10 January).
Everton and Fulham became the first Premier League clubs to progress to the fourth round on Thursday with victories over Peterborough United and Watford of the Championship from League One respectively.

The tie of the round sees Arsenal host Manchester United at the Emirates, while Aston Villa against West Ham is the only other tie in the Premier League.
In other intriguing fixtures, League Two team Salford City, partly owned by a host of former United players including David Beckham, visit Manchester City, while fellow fourth division club Accrington Stanley take on Liverpool at Anfield.
Morecambe, 91st of the 92 clubs in the English Football League, travel to Chelsea, while Bromley, also from the fourth division, is away to Newcastle United and non-league Tamworth hosts Tottenham Hotspur

When are the next Premier League matches?
However, you won't have to wait long at all to get your next Premier League fix. There will be a full round of play next midweek, four of which will be on Tuesday (January 14) and Wednesday (January 15), followed by two on Thursday (January 16).
Among the matches are third-placed Nottingham Forest against league leaders Liverpool, and a north London derby between Arsenal and Spurs.
