Why Kyle Walker REJECTED a mega-money move to Saudi Arabia – and it has nothing to do with wife Annie

KYLE Walker has turned down a mega-money transfer to Saudi Arabia as he still hopes to reach 100 caps for England.

The 34-year-old Manchester City ace, who capped 93 times for the Three Lions, feared a move to the lucrative Saudi league would end his chances.

It comes as The Sun reported Walker is preparing a move to Italy – with long-suffering wife Annie Kilner set to join him in a bid to save their marriage.

The couple hopes to put the captain's troubled love life behind them and focus on the future.

Kyle is linked to two top clubs in the trendy Italian city.

A source said a loan deal had been reached in principle with Inter Milan, despite major rivals AC Milan also showing interest.

Insiders said he shocked City bosses last week by saying he wanted to move, and that 31-year-old Annie was likely to move with him despite filing for divorce in August.

One of them said: 'Neither of them knows what the future holds. But they are hopeful that a move to Italy will give them the breathing space they so desperately need to see if things can be sorted out.

“It has been impossible in England to do that because of the pressure they have had over the last 12 months.

'They hope that time alone will help them decide if there is anything left they can save.

'Annie would like to go through with the divorce to get her finances in order and Kyle won't be against that. But they haven't completely given up on each other yet.'

Their four children – Roman, 12, Riaan, eight, six-year-old Reign and baby Rezon – will also move from their home in Prestbury, Cheshire.

The news comes after The Sun revealed last year that Walker had fathered a second child with ex-mistress Lauryn Goodman.

Annie, pregnant with Rezon at the time, swore this was the last straw and kicked him out.

The football hero then publicly apologized in an exclusive interview with The Sun and begged for forgiveness.

In the summer, Walker returned from the European Championship defeat in England and had to meet 33-year-old Lauryn in court due to financial arrangements for year-old daughter Kinara.

Papers showed he increased Lauryn's housing budget from £1.85 million to £2.4 million after she threatened to move from his family home within ten minutes.

Walker's surprise request to leave City was revealed after he was left out of the squad ahead of Saturday's 8-0 FA Cup demolition of Salford City.
