Why Man Utd were forced into nightmare journey back from Fulham

Manchester United stars had to be driven home by a coach after their Premier League match against Fulham.

United defeated the Cottagers on Sunday with 1-0 thanks to the winner of Lisandro Martinez in Craven Cottage.

The Red Devils would fly back to Manchester Airport, but the flight was canceled.

Due to problems with the airline, the plane home was no longer an option.

And so Man Utd had to pass a bus trip of three and a half hours to Manchester.

The men of Ruben Amorim faced Fulham at 7 p.m. and the manager completed his press conference after the game around 9.40 p.m.

The team arrived back on Manchester Airport around 1.30 am and got back in their cars that they had parked in the area awaiting a flight.

Some players, such as Manuel Ugarte, seemed visibly frustrated after the terrible test.

United trains on Monday despite the terrible journey, but has free on Tuesday.

Amorim trains again on Wednesday morning for the three -hour flight to Romania.

That is where they will compete against FCSB in the crucial Europa League match on Thursday, while trying to get a place in the top eight.

That leads directly to the last 16, which is quite important for United in the midst of their persistent misery in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have dropped to twelfth place in the ranking, which means that winning the Europa League is their best chance of achieving Champions League qualification next season.
