Why Ruben Amorim’s Man Utd system is broken and what they need to do with Alejandro Garnacho

The Manchester Derby did not live up to its usual hype on Sunday when Man Utd and Man City played our goalless -boringspot.

Despite excitement about what a tough collision could have been, because it has been over the years, fans were allowed to struggle to stay awake during the big game of the weekend.

Ruben Amorim's United Side could not benefit from their under -performing neighbors with problems all over the field.

In the latest episode of Sunssport's Tactics, our expert Dean Scoggins reveals which is broken to the MAN UTD system.

Garnacho that drives me Amad

You can't help it, but think about what Amad Diallo – and possibly even Anthony Elanga – would do in the role of Alejandro Garnacho in this man Utd team.

Non -selfish runs are so important in football and opening passing lanes nowadays, but Garnacho does the opposite.

Only 25 seconds in the game had a fantastic opportunity to go on Bruno Fernandes with a simple pass, but chose not to play the ball.

Garnachos Run direction is often the wrong way. It is not that he always goes to the left or always goes to the right, it is that he does not seem to have the consciousness of what is around him to make the right run.

In Ruben Amorim's 3-4-2-1 form, Garnacho should make running to occupy defenders or make an option when Patrick Dorgu gets the ball.

Instead, Garncho and Rasmus Hojlund always seem to be in the same central positions.

It might be time to start with whether the Argentinian understands what is being asked by the new manager.

Open the Dorgu

Dorgu worked very hard and he did fantastically good to get up and down to the field to try to implement the Amorim system.

The Amorim system means that overloading from one side of the pitch can often leave a wing -back wide open on the other flank – a position that Dorgu was more several times.

However, his Barnstorming Runs were not seen quickly enough by his teammates from the midfield or Garnacho stood in the wide areas.

United must release Dorgu earlier, so that he can be the one who can put the crosses in the box.

Amorim's silk did not benefit from the narrow system of Pep Guardiola.

If they had defended narrow and then spread the ball wide when they attacked, United could have had more joy against their neighbors.

Trust problems

Man UTD players do not seem to trust the players behind them, causing trust problems that hinder their versions.

The attackers who lead the press do not seem to trust the midfielders behind them to do their work when it comes to marking the opposition.

That makes them fall back and try to help, and then see the midfielders fall back to mark the deeper men and what the back of United means three are left behind, no one and very little pressure exerted on the ball.

To be pushed back as far as United, when United wins the ball, they are not high enough on the field and they are no longer 1v1 with their opposing figures.

It also prevents United from switching from fast enough from the defense to attack.

The system doesn't seem to be a problem, it can be a personnel problem.

Bruno … it's logical

Bruno Fernandes was really good against City, he was the core of every good move that United had.

By playing him as one of the attacking three, you have his game intelligence to help them create opportunities and use the system.

At the moment he does not look like he wants to move to Rasmus Hojlund and does not have the runs of the ball from the ball elsewhere to feed the passes.

There were several occasions where Fernandes had the ball in central areas and everyone else were narrow.

If players go to broad areas, Fernandes can certainly be the key to unlock more and find the right steps.

Pointed light

Both Manchester clubs could be made at the top during the derby, but Man City had an excuse with their superstar striker Erling Haaland was missing due to injury.

In the meantime, United had both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee available to them and still failed to find the back of the net.

Hojlund has only scored one goal in his last 24 games in all matches, while Zirkzee only has a marginal better record with two goals in its last 22 performances for United.

Hojlund has not received the service he should be, given the SSUs that have already emphasized, but his average position is astonishing.

The average position of the striker during the rest was deeper than that of Manuel Ugarte.

The Dane does not push the defender back as much as he should and it seems that he has a lack of confidence when it comes to defending a defender 1v1.

Zirkzee offered much more about stretching the city defense, but he is just not fast enough to make his runs effective.
