William Gallas slams ‘unacceptable’ Arsenal problem that’s been ‘going on for years’

William Gallas has blown up the “unacceptable” results of Arsenal by claiming that Premier League champions did not drop cheap points than the Gunners.

The former arsenal captain, who spoke to one of his other old parties Chelsea for today's top collision, feels that the men of Mikel Arteta are only blamed after they have fallen no less than 15 points of Table toppers Liverpool.

Gallas told Prime Casino: “This has been Arsenal's problem for years. They drop too many points against the smaller clubs in the Premier League.

“Yes, they went to Nottingham Forest, they lost at home at West Ham, but have you seen some of the other results? Ten draws are too many for a team that wants to win the competition. Premier League champions do not go home to Everton and West Ham. They don't lose from Bournemouth.

“It is unacceptable for a club like Arsenal to drop points like this year after the year. Yes, we all know that the Premier League is very competitive, we all know that the level has passed the competition, but if you continue to make the same mistakes, you must question the mentality of the players.”

While injuries and official decisions, including the five top-flight red cards from Arsenal, have cost the Gunners a lot in the course of the campaign, Gallas still has the feeling that the title was there to be won by his former employers.

Arsenal gave a late lead against Liverpool at the end of October and later went home to Everton, away to Brighton and at home in Fulham, at Aston Villa.

But in the past month, the complicated 1-0 defeat against West Ham Plus 1-1 has left disappointing draws in Forest and Manchester United with a mountain to climb and the Focus has now undoubtedly shifted to the Champions League.

He continued: “Winners are not satisfied with draws or defeats, they win at all costs. Liverpool has drawn seven games, but they have lost one.

“You only get so many opportunities to win the competition. When the door opens, you have to walk through it. In the last three seasons the doors opened twice and they turned around and closed it. It's not so annoying. It's not because the opponent was too strong.

“It is because Arsenal attracted matches, dropping points against small teams. If it was against a big club, a large team, I would say, okay, no problem. But if they take the lead and they can't hold it, it's frustrating.”

Earlier this week, Gallas also focused on Arteta by claiming that top managers did not pass on the chance to sign a tent striker – the missing piece of the puzzle by supporters – considered two years in a row.

He said about the Spaniard: “Arsenal should have signed a big striker in the summer of 2023, but they did not do that. They should have signed one in the summer of 2024, but they didn't do that. CEO does not make the same mistake two seasons. That is completely unacceptable.”
