Wilshere: Footballers are great role models but they need to be able to go party

Jack Wilshere was praised as the new Paul Gascoigne after making his senior debut in England and received a reputation for a party lifestyle.

The career of the former Arsenal -midfielder, including a stunning double strike during the qualification match of the three Lions' European Championship against Slovenia in 2015, was subsequently hindered by a catalog of injuries.

But now 33 years old and a coach-momentary with championship side Norwich City, and previously Arsenal Under-18S, he is the pressure on young football stars.

Just like former three Lions manager Sir Gareth Southgate, he knows how much these children need role models.

The Four father will run next month's London Marathon to support the British Heart Foundation and supports a campaign that inspires the nation to learn life-saving cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

While he was in Arsenal, Jack now helped the 18-year-old Wonderkids Myles Lewis-Skelly-Die scored last week on his full debut in England in our world cup qualification win against Albania and Ethan Nwaneri, now with the three lions under 21s.

But he also believes that players should drop their hair if they are not in club time.

He made the headlines in 2010 when he was arrested for 18 days after making his full debut in England in a friendly against Hungary in Wembley, who came up as a late replacement for Steven Gerrard.

He received caution for the police after the Brawl Late Night-where it turned out that he had played Peacemaker.

But Jack tells the Sun: “I always thought that I was wise enough to know the right times to go out and when that is not – and it is important that the players have some downtime.

“Of course the world has changed a bit and there are so many things that young people, young players can do, but downtime is important, just like the people around you.”

After England crashed into the group stage in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Jack was depicted with a cigarette while he partyed in a swimming pool in Las Vegas with goalkeeper Joe Hart.

But that was in downtime between tasks with England and Arsenal.

Many football players, such as the English Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish, have been chased by shots of those who party.

But Jack says, “I never really look back and think,” I shouldn't have done that. “

During his career, he won FA Cups with Arsenal in 2014 and 2015, 34 England caps, including six man-of-the-match awards, and scored two Premier League objectives of the season.

After ten years in Arsenal, until 2018, he was in West Ham for spells to Bournemouth and Danish side Aarhus for two years. But injuries – especially only knee and back – forced him to retire in 2022 at the age of 30 -.

Goals of the season

He then became head coach of Arsenal Under-18s before he left last October to become a coach of the first team at Norwich.

He has succeeded advice from former England -Friends Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, who have all moved to football management.

Jack says about coaching: “It is a Comp-Letely other skills. You have to learn how to lead people.

“You have to learn how to inspire people and keep them inspired and convince them to buy something.”

Gareth Southgate spoke last week about how such inspiration should be passed on to young men, throughout society, to prevent them from falling under the spell of poisonous online influencers such as misogynist Andrew Tate.

Jack has son Archie, 13, and the 11-year-old daughter Delilah by former girlfriend Lauren Neal, as well as daughter Siena, Zeven and the six-year-old son Jack by his wife Andriani Michael.

He says: “We must be careful with the messages to which we expose them, which I try to do, and try to limit their access to social media and try to give them opportunities to have role models.

“Archie is 13. As he gets older, things can change. But at the moment his role models are footballers, and he wants to become a football player, and he has driven to do that.”

Jack – who has been married to Andriani for almost eight years, daughter of his hairdresser – believes that football players are great role models for young men.

His sons now worship the latest sensations in England.

He says: “I think of my son and another son who is five – they have role models, they love Jude Bellingham, they love Bukayo Saka.

“When I grew up, I had David Beckham, I had Joe Cole, I had Frank Lampard.”

In the meantime, football plays a role in saving lives by asking fans to learn resuscitation – the emergency procedure of breast presses and saving breaths to restore breathing and blood circulation after the heart stops.

Sky Bet and every minute of the English football competition is important cam-paign want to get 270,000 football fans to learn this next month and 235,000 already have. The British Heart Foundation has its own online course of 15 minutes, Revivr.

Jack learned resuscitation because his oldest child has Archie Epilepsy, which causes attacks.

Jack reveals: “The first time it happens, you don't know what it is going on, what it is. It was pretty scary. So we wanted to learn resuscitation as a family.”

British Heart Foundation Ambass-Ador Jack now supports the Sky Bet EFL every minute Matters Relay-A 4000 km “Outing” throughout the country from today in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria and Plybria and Four weeks later in London on Easter Monday.

Fans of all 72 clubs in the English Football League walk, walk and cycle of different lengths.

Fan favorites “Big Sam” Allardyce, Troy Deeney and Dion Dublin also participate.

However, Jack is also training for the London Marathon on April 27 – and the hard yards have been more difficult than he thought. He admits: “It is difficult. I never thought I would really have to run that far.”

Waiting for him for the finish line will be daughter Siena, whose potentially fatal heart condition Jack has inspired to help the British Heart Foundation.

In February last year, Siena housed an operation to repair a hole in its heart. Jack was so stressed by the fear of losing her that he almost lost a stone in weight.

He adds: “People said to me:” Why are you doing the marathon? You're crazy “. And yes, it will be difficult, it will be difficult, there will be times when I will probably doubt whether I will come across the finish line.

“But I will come across the finish line and Siena will wait for me. Thanks to the British Heart Foundation, thanks to the doctors, and that is something I will always be for.”

Siena is now fit and good, back to a normal life, although Jack says: “We are a bit more careful with her and probably give her a little more TLC than the others.”

Daughter's Heart Op

The marathon will see him set up against former England teammate John Terry, and Jack says laughing: “If I were you, I would put your money on him.”

Chelsea Centrum half John was the three Lions captain when Jack broke as a teenager in the side. The Hardman skipper was an inspiring leader who helped the young player accompany the field.

Jack says: “It was something I have never experienced before. He spoke through the whole game – my positioning, how to do, how to do. He taught me a lot and showed me what a real leader was.”

Jack now hopes to become a manager, but is happy to take and learn his time. The success of Southgate that brings England to two European championship finale in a row, in 2021 and 2024, inspires him – like other English managers, such as Eddie Howe and Graham Potter of Newcastle United in West Ham.

But he has no beef with the football club that has given the English manager's task to the German Thomas Tuchel, ex-Boss of Chelsea.

Jack says: “I think it's great, it's a big step of the Fa. Gareth has been doing fantastic work and as a young English coach to have someone like Gareth at the top of the tree, our faith gave us.

“But with the players we have now, it is so important that we maximize that, and we have the best man to do that. Thomas is a proven winner.”
