Florian Wirtz has told Bayern Munich that he is joining Liverpool, according to reports.
The German is one of the most popular features on the transfer market this summer.
But according to football journalist, Sacha Tavolieri, Wirtz is now only one step away from joining the Anfield outfit.
Only a few days ago it was revealed that Manchester City had pulled himself out of the race to sign the Bayer Leverkusen Ace about the total costs of the deal that possibly reached a number of £ 252 million.
The figures involved in the deal did not deter the German champions Bayern Munich or English champions Liverpool.
And according to Tavolieri, Wirtz City told that he would join the side of Vincent Kompany in Bavaria.
The 22-year-old and his entourage, however, would have had another change in heart and now Bayern has informed that he will come to Liverpool.
It is said that he personally told the German Giants management of his decision.
And it now places him close to a move to Liverpool after reports that he was already a house hunt in the city.
The report adds that the side of Arne Slot will complete a transfer agreement to sign the attacking midfielder for £ 126 million.
Wirtz scored 16 goals and added 15 assists this season in 45 games when the club finished second in the Bundesliga under Xabi Alonso, who was also confirmed that he was leaving the club.
The chase of Liverpool for Wirtz comes after links to stunning swings for Wirtz's teammate Jeremie Frimpong and Bournemouth's Milos Kerkz to revise their full-back options.
