Liverpool is still talking to Bayer Leverkusen about a deal to bring Florian Wirtz to Anfield, but they still have to reach an agreement for a fee with the Bundesliga outfit
Julian Nagelsmann insists that Florian Wirtz is great to play for the national team of Germany and that the continuous negotiations on a blockbuster transfer to Liverpool do not distract the attacking midfielder.
Wirtz, 22, has joined the national team prior to their UEFA Nations League Semi-final collision with Portugal. Conversations about his future go in the background while Liverpool tries to close a deal with Bayer Leverkusen to take him to Anfield.
The Reds have so far seen two bids that have been rejected by the Bundesliga outfit, which Wirtz appreciates on a stunning £ 126 million.
Without reaching an agreement, the situation seems to be dragging – but Nagelsmann will not stop selecting Wirtz for Germany.
The national team boss confirmed the same amount on Tuesday, where he also denied that the situation is hiking Wirtz. He said, “Flo will play [against Portugal].
“I don't feel any fear of injury or something with him. He is a competitor who wants to play and want to be successful with us.”
He added: “I did not notice that the situation was bothering him. I think it is completely normal for every player, coach, whatever, to have one or two thoughts when a transfer is on hands. I think that is part.”
With Bayern Munich and Manchester City who pull themselves out of the race to sign Wirtz, Liverpool has a clean run to get a deal for a player who flourished under Xabi Alonso, a former head -favorite.

It appeared on Tuesday that Arne Slot recently met Rayan Cherki – another target of Liverpool – in honor of a meeting that was planned before the things spent with Wirtz, who remains the first choice of the club.
Although Nagelsmann says that the Saga has no mental effect on Wirtz, the player has hit back at reports and claims that he would like to take the number 10 shirt if he moves to Liverpool.
The song is currently supported by Reds -Midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister, who moved from Brighton to Merseyside two years ago.
To social media to shoot those reports, Wirtz wrote: “Whoever says I want the 10. I respect players. Do not believe everything that has been written”, next to a clown -emoji.
