Nottingham Forest recorded a sixth successive Premier League win on Monday as they edged past Wolves with a 3-0 win at Molineux.
Nuno Espirito Santo has moved level on points with second-placed Arsenal and just six behind leaders Liverpool – who they host at the City Ground next in the competition – after another impressive display.
Morgan Gibbs-White needed just seven minutes to find the opener against his former side before Chris Wood doubled Forest's lead on the stroke of half-time with his twelfth league goal of the season.
Taiwo Awoniyi rounded off a brilliant performance late on, although Forest were still indebted to Matz Sels, who denied Jorgen Strand Larsen from scratch with the score at 1-0 in the first half.
Larsen was the hero in Wolves' last outing, a 2-2 draw against Tottenham, but squandered a host of glorious chances after also seeing Murillo's effort cleared off the line in the first half with the goal at its mercy.
Vitor Pereira was left to rue the missed opportunities as he suffered a first defeat in charge of Wolves. His team remain 17th, just outside the relegation zone, with Ipswich Town, 18th, on goal difference.
Forest's success is based on their lethal finishing and a strong back line. No team has kept more than nine clean sheets in the Premier League this season.
Nuno's team also played their fourth league match in a row here without setbacks and achieved so many clean sheets in a row for the first time since a series of five games in March 1992.
At the other end of the pitch, Wood found the net for the eighth time in the Premier League when he faced Wolves, his joint-most goals against an opponent in the competition (also eight against West Ham).
Gibbs-White has also been involved in six goals in his last six Premier League appearances for Forest (three goals, three assists), making it his first back-to-back appearance since April 2023.
In stark contrast, Wolves' first defeat under Pereira came after they failed to score at Molineux for the first time in 12 Premier League games since a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in April 2024.
