Wolves manager Vitor Pereira was quick to criticize striker Matheus Cunha's body language during Wolves' Premier League defeat to Chelsea on Monday.
Cunha, who has scored 10 league goals for Wolves this season, was unable to add to his tally at Stamford Bridge as they were beaten 3-1 by Enzo Maresca's side.
Although the Brazilian placed more shots (five) and touches in the opponent's penalty area (seven), Pereira was not satisfied with his overall performance.
Cunha reportedly went straight into the tunnel at full-time, with the Wolves boss expressing his anger at the situation, stating it was “something that can't happen”.
“He is a captain. He can get frustrated when he wants to win, but everyone in the dressing room wants to win. I don't like his body language,” Pereira said.
“I want a captain to try to help the team run, suffer and fight together. But I understand now, next time I won't understand.”
In the Premier League this season, Cunha has been Wolves' standout performer in a poor season that left them outside the bottom three after their last defeat.
For Wolves, no player has created more goals (14) or more chances (36) in the top flight than Cunha, with Pereira's comments only fueling rumors of an exit.
But one player who could leave the club during the January transfer window is Mario Lemina, with the midfielder missing five of Wolves' last six Premier League games.
Lemina has expressed a desire to leave Molineux and asked not to play in Wolves' 3-0 defeat to Newcastle last week, to take on a new challenge.
Wolves reportedly want £5million for the services of the Gabon international, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab having expressed their interest, but only on a free transfer.
And Pereira said Lemina would not be part of his squad while the transfer window is open this month.
“For me he is out until the end of the market and when the market closes I will see if he is my player,” Pereira added.
“If he is, it will be a problem that I solve because he is a good player, or he goes out and is not my problem.
“I don't want a player with doubts. I can't play with a player who has doubts in his head. I want players to commit to the project.”
“He is training, but at the moment his thoughts are not here because he still wants to move and go.
“I have to be honest and say what happened. I will wait until the end of the market and see.”
