Wolves in pole position to hijack Napoli deal for second Spanish right-back

Wolverhampton Wanderers thought they had a deal, except on Monday tied for Almeria defender Marc Pubill, but were posted by Atletico Madrid. Now wolves want to pull a similar movement over Napoli.

Pubill was a target for both Wolves and AC Milan, but after Atletico had moved for him, a deal was agreed within a few hours, making the Midlands side empty-handed. They have now drawn their attention to Seville Rechtsback Juanlu Sanchez.

Sevilla and Napoli have been in conversation for Juanlu for more than a month, where both parties play hardball through the reimbursement. The Italian side already has an agreement on a five -year -old deal with Juanlu, but as explained by Marca, there is a difference of € 3 million between the sides on the transfer costs.

Wolves are now in pole position for Juanlu, although Napoli is still in the frame and are close to a deal with Seville for around € 17-18 million. They still have to convince Juanlu to make the switch to Molineux. Juanlu has a release clause of € 40 million in his contract until 2029 and was previously linked to Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Juanlu was the alternative of Pubill in the Olympic gold medal-winning side of Spain last summer, with heavy from the bank and the winner in the semi-final against Morocco. The 21-year-old burst on stage like a promising right back to replace the legend Jesus Navas on the right in Seville.

That was as a teenager, and although he was a fixture for Seville last season, he started a little less than half of their games and made a total of 35 performances. Managers Garcia Pimienta and Joaquin Caparros have often moved him, on the right side of midfield or even in the central midfield, and he had a productive season in the future, scored five goals and gave five assists.
