Another week and another full of schedule of the Super League promotion of Ladies Wait, with MatchDay 13 full of seductive collisions at both ends of the table.
In the final round of matches, Chelsea saw their grip on the top position tighter after she left it late to fall Arsenal, but Manchester United remained on their tail after he had swept Brighton to the side to continue their excellent shape.
Manchester City recovered from their harmful derby defeat by completing a six-purpose thriller against Aston Villa, while the battle at the bottom took a new turn with Leicester City and only picked up their second victory of the season against Liverpool.
Everton resisted a wave of endless West Ham pressure to increase their own survival loop, while Crystal Palace was denied a point in the final phase versus Tottenham.
Only five points separate the bottom four in the division, with the matches this weekend perhaps crucial in the fight against relegation.
The expectation for another intriguing weekend of competitions will continue to build, but what does the OPTA -SUPERCOMPUTER predict on Sunday?
Manchester City against Arsenal
The promotion of the weekend starts in the Joie Stadium, where Arsenal wants to respond from their defeat against League leaders Chelsea when they travel to Manchester City.
City itself hit back from their Derby Day defeat against Manchester United with a 4-2 victory over Aston Villa, where Vivianne Miedema scored twice to keep Gareth Taylor's weak hope to win the title this season alive.
And the citizens are expected to continue their winning momentum against the Gunners this weekend, whereby the OPTA -SUPERCOMPUTER will hand them a chance of 45.6% about the victory to Arsenal's 27.6%. A draw gets a chance of 26.8%.
But recent competitions suggest that Arsenal could even be favorites. City has only won one of their last seven meetings with the Gunners in the WSL (D2 L4), a 2-1 home victory in February 2023.
However, the citizens are rightly at home grass. They have won 12 of their last 14 WSL competitions (L2), although they lost the previous time out of United at home. City has not lost back-to-back competition matches since November 2021 (three in a row).
Arsenal is now unbeaten in their last four WSL matches against City (W3 D1), the only team that currently has an undefeated run longer than one match against the citizens.
Although the Gunners were defeated 1-0 by Chelsea the previous time-out, they have never lost their first two WSL matches of a calendar year. Arsenal is also unbeaten in their last seven competition visits to the northwest (W4 D3).
Renee Slese Side has the lowest expected goals against (XGA) in the division this season (9.7), although they were confronted with 21 shots and nine shots on goal against Chelsea, with the last figure the most confronted with the most they since January 2018 had confronted (11 v Chelsea).
Brighton V Crystal Palace
Brighton's top-three ambitions were given a blow when they fell a 3-0 defeat for a revival of United Side the last time, but they will have the confidence to get their season back on track when they at the Crystal soil club Come across Palace.
In fact, the Opta-Supercomputer presented the Seagulls a chance of 54.4% to win in his data-conducted match simulations. Only a second victory of the season for Palace only gets a chance of 22.2% to happen, while a draw is a shot of 23.5%.
Brighton has each of their last three WSL matches against newly promoted opposition, while their last five of such matches have seen 25 total goals (15 for, 10 against).
Furthermore, they are also unbeaten in their six WSL competitions this season (W4 D2), with only Chelsea (W9) on a longer line without defeat on home grass in the competition.
And if Brighton would win this weekend (P12-W5 D2 L5-17 points), they will exceed their total scoring and the total number of victories from the entire 2023-24 WSL campaign (P22 W5 D4 L13-19 points).
Palace showed promising in their 3-2 defeat against Tottenham, only denied a point of a beautiful Olivia holdt-free kick in the second half of the stop time.
But they have now lost each of their last five WSL matches, the longest losing run by a team in the top flight this season. That is despite the fact that it scored twice in three of those losses, with the Eagles the team to suffer the most defeats in scoring multiple goals this term (three).
Visitors of Sunday are also only the 10th team that registers five or fewer points of their opening 12 games of a WSL campaign, with seven of the previous nine relegated last season, including the newly promoted Bristol City (also five points) .
Everton against Leicester City
Another wrestling side, Leicester City, came from a goal to beat Liverpool with 2-1 previous time-out, a result that made them four points of the palace at the bottom of the rankings, with the opponents of Sunday Everton now in their sights .
In the meantime, the Toffees are now two WSL matches without a victory after losing 2-0 to West Ham in their previous league matches, a match in which they managed to register a expected goals (XG) of 2.19 of 17 shots without touching it net.
It is a collision that can have huge implications for the respective seasons of each club, both of knowing a victory in Walton Hall Park give them clear daylight at the bottom of the table, but the OPTA -SUPERCOMPUTER sees only one winner.
The simulations guided by data handed Everton a chance of winning of 54.3%, while a draw had a chance of 23.5% to happen. In the meantime, Leicester came overly in only 22.2% of those simulations.
That could be this season at the impressive home record of Brian Sorensen. Everton is undefeated in their last three WSL competitions (W2 D1), last four without defeat at Thuisgras in the competition in November 2020.
But they struggled in recent meetings against Leicester, where the Foxes won each of their last three WSL matches against Everton with a 1-0 score line. No team has ever won four consecutive matches in the competition against an opponent with the same exact score.
Liverpool against West Ham
Two sides separated by just one point against each other in the St. Helens Stadium, where Liverpool is looking for a response after their shock destruction against Leicester, when they organize West Ham.
After a strong start of the season, Matt Beard's side has struggled in recent weeks. In fact, the Reds have lost five of their last six WSL matches (W1), as many defeats as they members about their previous 25 league matches (W12 D8 L5). The Reds have already lost more competition matches in 2024-25 (six) than in the entire last term (five).
Their struggles apparently came to the top of the field. Liverpool had 74 shots and scored nine times in their first six WSL matches this season to give them a conversion rate of 12%. Since then, however, the Reds have only converted 5% of their 61 shots into their most recent six league matches (three goals).
But they will be sure to close the gap to Tottenham in the rankings, because they have become unbeaten in all four of their WSL matches against West Ham (W3 D1), the most that they have played an opponent on a home floor without to lose.
However, West Ham will have something to say about that. They defeated Everton 2-0 the last time to continue their revival. After having done 15 WSL matches without a victory between February and November 2024 (D6 L9), the Hammers have since won three of their last six league games (L3).
But what does the OPTA -SUPERCOMPUTER predict? Liverpool hands over a 61.2% chance of victory, while the hope of West Ham is placed at 18.4%. A draw gets a chance of 20.4%.
Aston Villa against Chelsea
Chelsea from Sonia Bompastor continued to fly high on the WSL top after last week past Arsenal, thanks to a late fine of replacement Guro Reiten.
The blues (P12 W11 D1) remain one of the three teams that are still unbeaten this season in Europe's Big Five Leagues next to Liga F's Barcelona (P16 W16) and Premiere Ligue's Lyon (P13 W12 D1) – Five of the six WSL teams Those after 12 were fired after 12 games of a campaign were won the title (Man City ended in 2018-19 as 2nd).
And the next are Aston Villa, one side that they have all won nine of their earlier WSL meetings against a total score of 24-1. Only Arsenal (13 out of 13 V Brighton) and the blues themselves (10 out of 10 V Spurs) have a better 100% profit percentage against an opponent in the competition.
It is not surprising that Chelsea is supported by the OPTA -SUPERCOMPUTER. They won 79.4% of the simulations guided by data, the highest of every WSL side this weekend. An unlikely Villa victory gets a 9% chance, while a stalemate is 11.6%.
It is the second time in so many weeks that Villa will get up hopeful, after he lost 4-2 to Man City last time. However, they have scored eight goals in their last three WSL competitions (W2 L1), so that several goals have delivered for the first time on three straight matches on Home Turf.
Only FC Como (15) has dropped more points of leading positions in Europe's Big Five Leagues this season than Villa (13 – level with Espanyol), which could take the lead in four consecutive WSL matches for the first time since October 2023.
Tottenham v Manchester United
The promotion of the weekend is closed in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Manchester United in the hope of sealing the gap for leaders Chelsea when they compete against Spurs.
United is in Imperious Vorm under Marc Skinner, with their victory over Brighton previous time from their fourth consecutive victory in the WSL, their best winning run in a top campaign since their last seven games of the 2022-23 season.
The Red Devils have also scored in all 11 of their WSL matches against Tottenham, while also holding seven clean sheets (F29 A5), although they have to be on top form to stop one of the leading attacking threats of Spurs.
During the 3-2 victory of Tottenham over Crystal Palace, Beth England's Brace saw her become the first player to score against every club that was shown in the top flight of England (19) since it was turned around in 2011.
Her double brought her to 81 goals in the competition, three behind the leading goal scorer of the WSL of all time Vivianne Miedema, who maintained her grip on the title by shooting twice to Villa to totally extend her to 84.
On the way home with both efforts against Palace, Beth also moves her in flat terms with the Khadija Shaw (24) by Man City for the most head goals in the WSL history.
But the OPTA Supercomputer only hands Tottenham a chance of 21.3% on the emerging victor, with the chances of a draw slightly higher with 21.7%. In the meantime, United won 57.1% of the simulations guided by data.
