World Cup star Jorge Bolano dies 47 after sudden heart attack at birthday party

Former Colombia midfielder and Serie A Legend Jorge Bolano died at the age of 47 after a heart attack, with ex-Team-Mate Gianluigi Buffon who leads the tribute

Former world cup star Jorge Bolano unfortunately died at the age of 47. The ex-Colombia International is said to have had a heart attack after celebrating with his family for a special birthday supply in Cucuta, Colombia. Although he was quickly taken to the hospital, Bolano could not be saved.

A stream of tribute has arrived from former teammates and admirers on social platforms for the beloved Serie A icon. Under this, Gianluigi Buffon, who played next to Bolano in Parma, shared his genuine memory.

Buffon wrote to social media: “Jorge was an unforgettable friend and teammate, a constant in a dressing room of extraordinary champions. We played and won together in the golden years of a large Parma.

“On the field he fought without saving himself and, outside the field, I remember his friendliness and humanity that has made him an example for everyone. We will always carry you with us, rest in peace, my friend.”

Starting with his climb on football fame in Colombia with Atletico Junior in 1993, Bolano dedicated six years before he ventured to Italy, proudly putting on the Parma Jersey, reports The Daily Star.

Sharing glory with Buffon, lifted the Coppa Italia trophy for Parma during the 2001/02 season and witnessed their Ascension to the respected Champions League.

His career continued with loans to Sampdoria and Lecce, before he confirmed his place in Modena in 2007.

After two fertile years, he returned to Colombian pitches with Cucuta Deportivo in 2010 and hung up his boots two years later.

After Bolano had noticed 36 caps for Colombia, together with a memorable goal, Bolano Bright appeared in the 1998 World Cup for his country.
