Wrexham enjoyed a busy transfer window in January after the Hollywood owners of the club had punished a number of enormous signing sessions.
Manager Phil Parkinson has brought in three new faces thanks to the financial support of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney. The hierarchy of the League One Outfit undertook after a few disappointing results, including defeats against Stevenage, Shrewsbury Town and Barnsley.
Wrexham missed some goals, such as Sheffield on Wednesday, striker Michael Smith, who chose to stay in Hillsborough, and Sunderland-bound Liverpool loaner Jayden Danns. The club also said goodbye to two members of its back-to-back promotion-winning team: midfielder James Jones, who left to join Burton Albion, and Vleugel-Back Anthony Forde, whose contract was terminated by mutual permission.
However, it was a successful window for the Red Dragons in general, because they succeeded in making important improvements in the attack after this season struggling for goals. Ryan Longman
Ryan Longman from Hull City was the first new arrival at the racing course in January. The reimbursement paid for the 24-year-old was not announced, but is supposed to be in the region of £ 500,000.
Wrexham defeated the competition of Championship Side Oxford United to bind the former Brighton Man until the end of the 2026/27 season, with the option of an extra year. Parkinson's would first be interested in signing Longman last summer outside the back of an impressive loan saying at Millwall, with whom he helped to maintain their second-tier status by registering three goals and three more assists.
He missed a significant part of the start of the 2024-25 campaign due to injury, but has 100 championship to his name. Longman's Wrexham debut came as a second half replacement in their 3-2 home defeat against Stevenage.
His second cameo was more fun when he offered the most important assist for Elliot Lee's dramatic winner of 95th minute against Crawley Town on Saturday.
Sam Smith
The next step from Parkinson's was to bring in Reading's top scorer Sam Smith for a reported club record costs of £ 2 million. The 26-year-old striker wrote a deal of three and a half years with Wrexham after scoring 11 goals in 26 performances for the Royals this season.
Smith has a strong pedigree in the game after he initially came through the Academy of Manchester United, alongside Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay. The links to Old Trafford do not end there, because he was later managed at the start of his senior career at Reading by ex-united Defender Jaap Stam.
Smith made his bow for Wrexham during Saturday's 2-1 victory in Crawley. Although he did not come to his debut, he came close after saving a considerable effort in the first half.
Jay Rodriguez
After hot on the heels of Smith's arrival, Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez was. The 35-year-old, who has 258 Premier League performances under his belt, completed a switch to North Wales after he had offered a financial deal worth £ 15,000 a week, according to the Daily Telegraph.
