Xabi Alonso dismisses Real Madrid links: “There was nothing to decide.”

Bayer Leverkusen -Manager Xabi Alonso has avoided his future somehow to be about where he will be next season. Several points of sale were reported that he would not only make a decision about his future in March, but that he would announce his plans for next season in his first press conference back after the international break.

The Basque manager is the hot favorite to take over from Carlo Ancelotti in Real Madrid, but Los Blancos will not make a decision about the future of the Italian until their season and their trophy trek will be defined. In the meantime, Leverkusen, who have a pact with Alonso to let him leave if Real Madrid offers him the job, apparently wants to know where Alonso will be, so that they can plan for the following season.

Alonso recovered questions and claimed that no change in his situation had changed.

“I didn't make decisions. It was a good break, we needed it. It was a different situation than last year. There was something to decide, and now there is no difference. I was in Spain last week, yes, but I didn't talk to anyone,” he explained, as quoted by Diario like.

“There is no deadline. My thoughts are the same. I stay focused on this season, I already said that the focus of our players and myself is on what we have. We are in an important phase. We don't want to speculate about something that goes beyond football.”

Just like Ancelotti, Alonso has a contract until 2026, which perhaps implies that he intends to look out in the Bundesliga. Few, however, would bet that Alonso remained in Germany if Ancelotti was rejected at the end of the season. Brazil has been equally good attention to the future of Ancelotti, who focus on the Italian to take over this summer.
