Real Madrid was decimated by Paris Saint-Germain in their club World Cup Semi-Final Showdown last week, with the European champions won 4-0 in New York. It was a very low moment for Los Blancos, which until then had a relatively good tournament.
It was also the first defeat of Xabi Alonso, at the beginning of June he took the lead over Real Madrid, and it will have called for him to repair rights. And one of these can hold the dynamics with Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, who, according to many, are unable to play together in the ideal line-up of Los Blancos.
Last week the couple started as Wingers on either side of Gonzalo Garcia, with Mbappe on the left and Vinicius Schoenhorn from position on the right. But it turned out that he would not start against PSG, as revealed by Alberto Pereiro on Radio Estadio (via Sport).
It is claimed that Vinicius should originally start on the couch against PSG, with Mbappe and Gonzalo collaborated in an attack with two men. But with the news that Trent Alexander-Arnold missed because of an injury, Alonso decided to go from a 3-5-2 to 4-3-3, which meant that the Brazilian was back.
Although he was not in the end, there is a chance that it can be a sign of things that come for Vinicius – especially since it has been reported that Mbappe is counted more than he in Real Madrid. But despite this, Alonso's wish will be a way in which they can both start in the same line-up and then be able to play their strengths.
It is still to be seen whether there is a solution for Alonso, who did until the beginning of August before Real Madrid starts with a repellent schedule for the season.
