Real Madrid worried about their thoughts after a humble defeat against Paris Saint-Germain. The future of the Brazilian star Rodrygo Goes, however, remains one of the important debate topics in the Santiago Bernabeu, and Wednesday evening did little to facilitate speculation.
Despite the fact that Xabi Alonso three went against PSG, Rodrygo was again nowhere to be seen. He spent the entire game on the couch, with Gonzalo Garcia and Brahim Diaz used for him.
It was a regular question that Alonso was dealing with during the club World Cup, and Alonso has previously indicated that he believes that Rodrygo could come back to his best and wanted to play. However, it was again a subject for Alonso to deal with it after he stayed on the couch.
“The fact that he no longer played was a decision based on the game. The way things were going on, we needed another player. In this championship there have been no decisions about the future; we didn't make much of it.”
Although he stayed without obligation about the future of Rodrygo, Alonso said that he had a clearer idea of what Real Madrid needed to go into the summer. He also seemed to hint through that at least he wanted Los Blancos to be active on the transfer market.
The main agencies for Rodrygo seems to be arsenal. However, the Gunners have no plans to move for him until later in the transfer window. Back in Madrid is the plan for Alonso to discuss his plans with Rodrygo before a decision is made, but Real Madrid is open for a sale for the right price. Without an important U-turn, it seems that his future is away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
