Xhaka in heated confrontation with Leverkusen ultras after defeat to minnows

Granit Xhaka collided with his own fans in a heated confrontation after a humiliating defeat.

Xhaka, 32, played the full 90 minutes when Bayer Leverkusen from the semi-final of the DFB-Pokal German Cup was dumped by Arminia with the third row.

The ruling Bundesliga champions became the fourth top-flight side that was dumped by the Minnows from the competition of this season.

Leverkusen took the lead by Jonathan Tah in 17 minutes.

The hosts who equalized three minutes later took a surprise lead for the break – and managed to hold a new famous victory.

But while Arminia celebrated their place in the final of next month – where they will be confronted with Stuttgart or RB Leipzig – threatened to cook anger under Leverkusen fans.

But the conversation soon became angry, with the former Arsenal skipper furious gestures to a man in particular.

As he demonstrated during his time in the Emirates with his notorious eruption where he told his own fans to have “f *** off”, the combative Swiss star is never anyone who shuns a flaring row.

An employee of Bayer tried to calm the furious fan, but Xhaka continued the intense exchange while another man joined the fiery debate.

Leverkusen won the DFB-Pokal last season as part of their record-breaking campaign, which made them unbeaten in domestic football and the double won their very first Bundesliga title.

They missed the Treble when breathola lookman scored a hat trick for Atalanta in the Europa League final.

The shock -worship against Arminia means that the side of Xabi Alonso will not keep the cup this season.

And they are in second place, six points behind Bayern Munich, with seven more games in the competition campaign.
