Yamal: Madrid can criticise me when they beat Barcelona

Lamine Yamal says that Real Madrid cannot have any complaints about his public criticism of them, while Barcelona continues to dominate their Clasico rivals on the field.

Yamal played a key role when Barca Madrid defeated in a dramatic Copa del Rey final on Saturday, on two assists while the Blaugrana triumphed 3-2 in extra time.

The 17-year-old Tede Doelen of Pedri and Ferran Torres when Barca won the Interior Cup for a record-expanding 32nd time, who also recorded their third consecutive Clasico victory this season.

His comments led to a recoil from Madrid supporters and parts of the Spanish media, but he is not impressed by that reaction.

“While I am winning, they can't say anything,” Yamal told reporters on the eve of Barca's Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter. “If they beat me, they can.”

When asked about his trust in his capacities, the teenage wing added: “I have no fear, but I feel that motivation and get those butterflies in my stomach for a game.

“I think that's a good thing. As far as every fear is concerned, I left it a long time ago in the park in Mataro.

“I would not say that I feel any pressure. For example, the atmosphere at the final of Copa del Rey is something to go out and enjoy. I don't see it as busy.”

Yamal now has 34 targets for all competitions this season (14 goals, 20 assists), with only Raphinha (51) and Robert Lewandowski (43) more for Barca.

Yamal also releases that figure at least 10 from the second best teenager in Europe's top five competitions, with Paris Saint-Germain's Desire Doue on 24 (13 goals, 11 assists).

Yamal's amazing turnout In the past few seasons, some people compare him to Barca -ICON Lionel Messi, but the winner of the Euro 2024 rejects those comparisons.

“I compare myself with no one, so especially not with Messi,” he said. “I'll leave that to you.

“I try to be myself and follow my own path. Of course I admire him as the best player ever, but I don't compare myself with him.”

Barca host Inter in the first stage of their Champions League semi-final draw on Wednesday, before he will travel to San Siro next Tuesday for the return fixture.
