‘You ready to defend this?’ … Khabib Nurmagomedov catches UFC employee slipping with world title in hilarious clip

Khabib Nurmagomedov has shown his comedic side ahead of UFC 311.

UFC 311 features two of Nurmagomedov's teammates, Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov, both in championship fights. Although 'The Eagle' admits that cornering his fighters causes him stress, he doesn't let that stop him from being jovial with UFC personnel during fight week.

This is evident in his hilarious encounter with a UFC employee holding a PR championship belt backstage during UFC 311 fight week.

Khabib Nurmagomedov puts pressure on UFC employee with UFC 311 championship belt

In a video on Jan. 16, Nurmagomedov jokingly pressured a UFC employee who was holding a championship belt.

“Brother, this is the UFC belt?” Nurmagomedov surprised the employee. “Are you ready to defend this title?”

“It's the PR belt,” the employee smiled.

Nurmagomedov joked: “It doesn't matter. If you have a UFC belt, you have to protect it.”

“Anytime, anywhere,” the employee joined in the joke. They both laughed.

Khabib stopped a UFC employee carrying a UFC belt and asked him if he was ready to defend it 😭😭

'No, no, no, come here. Why are you taking this belt? If you have a UFC belt, you have to protect it.”

It's nice to see this side of 'The Eagle' after Nurmagomedov was kicked off a Frontier Airlines flight earlier this month. The former lightweight champion made headlines, with Michael Chandler labeling the incident as discrimination and Conor McGregor making fun of Nurmagomedov on Instagram.

Fortunately, Nurmagomedov is known for being pragmatic, as evidenced by his brutal training methods.

Khabib Nurmagomedov's brutal training to prepare UFC champions

PFL's Ibragim Ibragimov told Bloody Elbow about Nurmagomedov's brutal training. These consist of shark tank-style workouts, where one athlete takes on five new fighters in a row, for one minute each. After five minutes, the fighters get a minute of rest before switching roles.

It's very reminiscent of the work at City Kickboxing in New Zealand, where former champions Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski sharpen their tools.
