For Dricus du Plessis it is Khamzat Chimaev or nobody on UFC 319.
Du Plessis has successfully defended his middleweight title twice since he won it early last year, and is ready for a challenge that has so far branded the most difficult of his undefeated UFC career.
On UFC 319, Du Plessis will fight against Chimaev, an unbeaten phenomenon that has long been tipped for the Glorie Championship in the leading promotion of MMA.
The obstacle that has so far fulfilled potential for 'Borz' is a whole series of health problems and canceled battles. That is not surprising that the UFC the services of a back -up hunter for Du Persis vs. Chimaev used.
But the champion does not intend to get the most out of the opponent in reserve, Chimaev would stop.
Nassourdine Imavov responds after Dricus du Plessis rejects his UFC 319 -back -uprol
Nassourdine Imavov was unveiled as the official back -up for the UFC 319 Main Event in May. Imavov played Israel Adesanya in February to strengthen herself in title conflicts.
But while the Frenchman may cross his fingers for Chimaev to withdraw, so that he can have his shot in Chicago on August 16, Du Plessis told him not to hold his horses.
The South African recently revealed RMC fights that he does not intend to accept a Late-notice fight with Imavov if Chimaev must be hit by illness, injury or something else that stops him to take the walk on UFC 319.
Imavov did not last long to shoot back at X and told Du Plessis that he is unable to reject the challengers in the same way as Jon Jones in heavyweight.
“Thank you for the compliments @Dricusduplessis, but you are not Jones,” Imavov wrote. “If something happens, you will not block anything, if you are not ready to defend, leave the place.”
Dricus du Plessis' ominous warning to Khamzat Chimaev
For the time being, the reluctance of Du Plessis does not have to be tackled against Imavov on UFC 319.
With that, the South African will fully have his focus on handing Chimaev's first defeat in professional MMA.
If 'Borz' makes it unscathed in Chicago, Du Plessis has sworn to shock the world with a dominant defense of his throne.
“I don't care how good you think you are, how difficult, how fit or how strong,” wrote du Plessis on Instagram.
“When you step into that octagon with me, it will be a first experience and not a pleasant one.
“That is a promise. As we say in 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 🇿🇦 ##stillknocks #prparetoweamazed.”
UFC 319 takes place in the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on August 16. The title fight between Du Plessis and Chimaev is currently the only confirmed matchup.
