Zinedine Zidane says it would be a “dream” to manage the national team of France.
Didier Deschamps, who has been in charge of France since July 2012, announced that he would resign as the head coach of Les Bleus after the World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Deschamps led France to the World Cup title 2018 and won the Nations League in 2020-21.
They were also finished as second in the 2022 World Cup, lost to Argentina on penalties, and the 2016 European Championships on Home Soil, Losing Portugal.
France still has to announce who will take over the Deschamps, but Zidane is one of the favorites to be in the dugout after next year's tournament.
And during an adidas event, Zidane, who scored twice in the final during their World Cup triumph in 1998, said: “I feel qualified for the French team, where I spent practically 12, 13, 14 years as a player.
“Of course it's a dream. I can't wait.”

Deschamps took the lead over 59 games for France and won 36 of those (D10 L13), which leads to a profit percentage of 61%.
France scored 125 goals during the term of DESchamps and admits only 56 at that time.
Zidane has no work anymore since leaving Real Madrid in 2021 at the end of his second spell. He led the club to three consecutive Champions League wins between 2016 and 2018 and also lifted two UEFA Super Cups, two FIFA Club World Cups and two LaLiga titles.
He won 172 of his 263 games in all matches in both spells in Madrid, with his side 596 goals at the time.
As a player for France, Zidane won the World Cup and Euro 2000 and collaborated Deschamps in midfield for both triumphs.
