Zinedine Zidane Sikt Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when calling the two players who 'jump out of his chair'.
The legendary former midfielder of Real Madrid and France has only had two roles since he got into professional club management – both are real.
Zidane managed Ronaldo during his first stint in the Bernabeu, during which time the Portugal legend won the Ballon d'Or in 2017.
But perhaps surprisingly, the Frenchman called two other balloon d'Or winners – and Ronaldo's former Real Madrid teammates – when he chose the two players who 'jump out of his chair' during competitions.
In June 2023, Zidane spoke with telephoto in June 2023: “If there is a player who still makes me jump out of my chair, it is Karim Benzema, maybe even Luka Modric.
“They are players who, if you think they are losing the ball, always succeed in getting away with it.
“They are the ones who make me crazier than others, those who make a difference for those who are lucky to have them.”
At the time of Zidane's interview, Benzema was the reigning balloon d'Or winner and only recently became a former Real Madrid player.
The Frenchman joined Al Ittihad as part of the exodus of high -profile European players from that summer to the Saudi Pro League.
Now 37 years old, Benzema has scored 16 goals this season in 22 league matches and has a contract with Al Ittihad that runs until the next summer – which means that his European football career seems to be over.
In the meantime, Modric is still part of the Real team at the age of 39, although the role of Ballon d'Or 2018 has been slightly reduced in recent seasons.
According to Relo, the midfielder of Croatia wants to stay in the Bernabeu until after his 40th birthday and he wants to continue with his rolling 12 -month contract – a policy that really uses the stay of one of their players older than 30 years.
