Bruno Fernandes calls on Man Utd team-mates to ‘show some balls’

Bruno Fernandes supported Ruben Amorim's explosion on his stumbling stars and emphasized: you must have the balls to play for Manchester United.

Baas Amorim caused a storm last week when he burned United's Fall-Guys the worst side in the club's history.

He later admitted that he was going too far – but Fernandes thinks he was scared.

And the skipper of Red Devils said: “The reality is to play here, you must be busy, you have to have the balls to play for this club – that's what it is.

“You have to feel that it is a new chance at any time in every game to bring us back to the position we deserve.

“Unfortunately for us this season there have been too many ups and downs and every time we look like we are coming, we are beaten again and we go down.

“What we have to do is every time we take a blow and go down, we have to get up and try to hit back.”

Fernandes certainly did that with his last winner in a dramatic Europa League collision with Rangers on Thursday.

And he admitted that Amorim's outburst after the 3-1 loss of last weekend before Brighton inspired him to that heroic seconds.

Fernandes added: “I don't want to hear my manager say that certain things say about the team because I know he doesn't feel it.

“But he made himself part of it and when the manager makes himself part of what he says, nobody can be angry or disappointed.

“When he says” The worst team in Manchester, “he talks about the position in which we find ourselves and when you look at where we are in the competition, we are in the worst position we have ever been.

“So you have to take it, that is unfortunately the reality. We are in this position for a long time and the club does not belong there.

“But we have to accept that and understand that we have to push ourselves into much bigger things and higher positions.”
