A jury has withdrawn to consider his judgments in the process of Chelsea striker Sam Kerr, accused of causing racially agitated intimidation.
The Australia International, who denies the indictment, called PC Stephen Lovell “Dom en Wit” during an incident in southwestern London in the early hours of January 30, 2023.
It is claimed that Kerr, 31, and her partner, West Ham midfielder Kristie Mewis, had been drinking when they were driven by a taxi driver to the police station of Twickenham who complained that they had refused to pay clean-up costs after one of them was Sick and that one of them hit the rear window of the vehicle.
At the police station, Kerr is said to have become “offensive and offensive” against PC Lovell and he calls him “F ****** stupid and white”.
During the process, Kerr denied the use of “whiteness as an insult” and explained: “I believed he was that he used his strength and privilege over me because he accused me of something I am not … I tried that out Because of the power and the privilege they had, they should never understand what we had just experienced and the fear we had for our lives. “
Asked if she said that PC Lovell was “stupid because he was white,” said Kerr, “No.”
Kerr also told the court that she “feared for my life” because she and her partner were “trapped” in the back of a taxi, moments before Mrs. Mewis hit the rear window of the vehicle.
She claimed: “Everything went through my thoughts about sitting in a car with a stranger that I considered dangerous.
“There was no reasoning with him. It was his way or nothing.”
The taxi driver, who said Mrs. Mewis that she believed she had taken them 'hostage', remained anonymous during the procedure and was never called to prove as a witness.
Grace Forbes spoke with the jury during her final remarks and defended: “There seems to be no consideration that the driver could have done what two women said he did and was still at the police station … Even if you're drunk you Can still be the victim of a crime … No wonder that the police have never heard of the director again.
“Despite the allegations, they have verified the (costs of damage) payment of £ 900. I am sure that he is very happy that he has remained unknown.
“He has not experienced criminal charges and will almost certainly never. But what happened in that taxi is relevant.”
Images of PC Lovell's body -glorious camera were previously played for jury members, in which Kerr him and PC Samuel Leding tells that they and Mrs. Mewis were “very scared” and “tried to escape” when they damaged the vehicle.
Kerr later accepts that he calls him “stupid and white” during a heated exchange, but denies that they amount to the costs.
To the question of the comments before the court, Kerr replied: “I had had a few drinks, mixed with fatigue, being in a frightened and troubled state and being afraid of my life 15 or 20 minutes earlier.”
She said she regretted the way she expressed herself, but added: “I feel that the message was still relevant.”
Kerr also told the court that she believed that the police treated me differently because of what they considered the color of my skin – in particular the behavior of PC Lovell. “
She added: “The way he accused me of lying and later arrested for criminal damage, although Kristie said it was only she (who hit the window of the taxi).
“At that time I thought they were trying to give it to me.”
